background
"You were born with a crown"
You were a disappointment from the moment you were born. A "she" when your parents so desperately hoped for a "he". The extra X chromosome might as well have decided your fate. Unable to conceive any more children, your parents settled for their "heiress" instead of their "heir".

The descendant of old money, a family line that featured politicians, diplomats and CEOs alike, your family's crowning jewel was Olette International, a global enterprise specializing in the trade and manufacturing of luxury goods. You were a princess, but your fate was never to rule your kingdom. No, it was apparent from when you were young that your life was nothing more than a bargaining chip. An asset meant to further expand your company's reign.

But still you grew strong

The innocence and naivety of childhood were things you never knew. they pushed, they pushed you to be perfect in every possible way. You were a doll to them. Someone they could dress up and tote around, someone they could pretend to love and nurture when in reality they had no room for you in their greed filled hearts. You were alone, forbidden from socializing outside your parents rules, forbidden to leave, forbidden to be yourself.

So you grew stronger.

You became an ideal candidate to run your family's business. You were smart, you were charismatic, you were every bit as good as any son would have been. No, you were better/ But still, their ancient thinking made it so you would never get the chance to show your strength. So you remained quiet.

Their little porcelain doll made of lilies and glass shards.

What was the point in it all? Life began to hold no meaning for you. The things you wanted were far out of reach, heart shaped voids filled in with rectangles made of green paper and plastic. Every one you knew just wanted you for your connections your money, your looks.

You were alone.

When high school started, your life was no different. You would attend the same high school your parents attended before you, and your grandfather before that. One of the oldest and most prestigious schools in the area. You were an elite then, but you kept to yourself. No one you would really call a "Friend", acquaintances and nothing more, not that they would ever know any different.

After all, reputation was everything.

The one love you held in your life was style, fashion, the feeling of a needle piercing fabric. You were talented at that. Your hand made clothes rivaled the name brands in your walk-in closet. Eventually, people took notice. You got a scholarship to attend a fine arts school in Paris. Your parents agreed to send you, considering it was only for a year and you could help soldify bonds with your allies in the european market.

You left Ridgeview and never looked back, at least, until a year later.

You returned to the California city you grew up in and god, it seemed so small in comparison. You hated it, you realized in your year away that you were worth so much more than this, than the pre-designed fate your parents chose for you. You would change things, you would make them see just how valuable you truly were. Though, there was a small hiccup, now that you were eighteen, the search for your future husband began...
